Thank you Mark, for inspiring us with one of your favourite subjects. I only wish we could get out now, armed with your insights, to find some examples in the flesh!
😊
Thank you Mark, that was fascinating. I look forward to watching more of your lectures.
Mark Hill's enthusiasm, passion for such a subject is enthralling and many of us will have a special look on the glass vases we can have at home whether they are British or made in other European countries. A most enjoyable lecture.
I was very interested in your lecture as I own a lovely Sam Herman peice made in 1975.I got it from a gallery in Harrogate in the about 1977 where I was showing some of my etchings.I negotiated to have the glass in lieu of payment for my etchings.I reckon I did a good deal. My husband had just seen the V&A show with Gerda Flockinger as he was into jewellry design but loved the Herman glass too. So great to learn more about this amazing glass artist.Thankyou.
I really enjoyed this Mark, thank you. Glass as an art medium is a new area for me, as a florist I collect vintage pieces for weddings etc. You have inspired me to try a mid century piece so I shall be on the lookout as soon as lock down is over.
Thank you very much for a very absorbing lecture. The time went very quickly when watching it. Is there anyone at the present time who is doing ground breaking work in glass?
I really enjoyed this lecture, it is great to learn about new areas and I loved the enthusiasm and knowledge shown in the delivery. Lecturing at its highest , thank you.
An inspiring lecture given with such energy and enthusiasm. I am going to learn more about Sam Herman and his work - thank you Mark for introducing me to his fabulous creations. I look forward to enjoying more of your informative lectures in the future.
Wonderful talk! So inspiring and informative. Fascinating to hear about the development of studio glass, something I knew nothing about. I'm Australian by birth, so was interested to hear how South Australia was keen to embrace the glass revolution early on. Really looking forward to future lectures! Thank you so much.
Many thanks for this and I look forward to more in the future from Mark.
Thank you so much for a fascinating lecture and for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm. I always enjoy visiting glass studios and am a huge fan of Dale Chihuly, but everything in your talk was new to me. I shall look for Sam Herman's work on my next visit to the V & A.
A fascinating talk - thank you, Mark. Is there a resurgence in the appreciation of and creation of coloured glass?
Brilliant lecture, giving quite a lot of information I didn't know. Referring to Sam Herman you mentioned he was very glassy! How does that translate, to understand more clearly.
