With regards the Isolation Competition of works for which we had to vote, I specifically voted for "Resilience" because of the expression on the face of a mature male not to say from the elderly aged group of people who in a certain limelight reflect : the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness and made of hard stuff !!!
Amazing!! I'll definitely take a look, thank you for sharing this art form, with us!
Yes Amber I do this sort of ikebana often. It's called sogetsu ikebana - which means it’s freestyle - making reference to the classic rules but with different materials and not sticking to the classic forms. I am lucky enough to have a Japanese sogetsu master who comes to Cornwall every summer and does a class or two. If you look on Instagram for sogetsu and for me at lizwoods17 you'll see more.
Thank you Muriel!
Such a beautiful combination. Makes me want to take up a yoga posture. Namaste.

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing artworks!
Today I tweeted another artwork from one of our members, with the quotation
"Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - what is more - you'll be a man, my son!".
Since we had to cancel our April lecture, we requested input from our members and we added a collage with the artwork that we included in our Easter special newsletter.
“Pralay”, 2020 | from the series “Kim-kartavya-vimudhah”
As the novel coronavirus scavenges the planet, leaving death and mayhem in its breadcrumb trail, we wonder if this is Mother Nature’s way of resisting humanity’s assault on her essential life systems? Exactly what James Ephraim Lovelock mentioned in “The Revenge of Gaia”. While Nature continues it’s beautiful life; only pushing away the humans in cages; this “pralay” (storm) etches a message loud and clear; it is high time humanity reconsiders its relationship with nature. www.dipayang.com
