Quite intriguing talk on 18th century hand-painted Chinese export silks - trade and technique. I must admit that you need a steady hand to paint such delicate floral arrangements. How beautiful the end result must be, and so rewarding to enjoy, filling the mind with a concentration on the pigment and the excitement of the colour it reveals. Brilliant, well done.

That you for your lovely feedback, Muriel. Making this film took me back to the original reasons I wanted to be active in the art world. While I'm an academic, it was always making things that took me into another world and brought me to where I am now. When you make something, time stands still with concentration compressing the hours as the rhythm of mixing pigment becomes almost an end in itself.
